Terence McKenna - The Human Imagination

McKenna waxes poetic about the very intimate relationship that humans have with the imagination. He uses the metaphor of birth to describe the consequence of an animal with a direct connection to this source and the ability to order ideas into matter.

Terence McKenna on Language

Then there is the phenomenon of non-ordinary, or what I call visible language and this is very interesting to me. This is where technology, virtual-reality, cybernetics, human-machine interfacing can actually make an impact and explore a frontier. Visual language is a transormation of the physiological impulse towards syntax into a final product, speech, which is not heard with the ears, but beheld with the eyes. It's very interesting that all our metaphors of clarity of speech are visual metaphors. -Terence McKenna

Terence McKenna Rock n the Chip Glasses

Terence McKenna advocated the exploration of altered states of mind via the ingestion of naturally occurring psychedelic substances. Although he avoided giving his allegiance to any one interpretation (part of his rejection of monotheism), he was open to the idea of psychedelics as being "trans-dimensional travel"; literally, enabling an individual to encounter what could be aliens, ancestors, or spirits of earth. He remained opposed to most forms of organized religion or guru-based forms of spiritual awakening.

Terence Mckenna - Our Last Chance

It's clearly a crisis of two things: of consciousness and conditioning. These are the two things that the psychedelics attack. We have the technological power, the engineering skills to save our planet, to cure disease, to feed the hungry, to end war; But we lack the intellectual vision, the ability to change our minds. We must decondition ourselves from 10,000 years of bad behavior. And, it's not easy.-Terence Mckenna

An Evening with Terence McKenna the famous chaos theorist mathematician. Taxonomy defined as classification, especially in relation to its general laws and principles; that department of science or subject, which consists in or relates to classification. Terence amusingly articulates by enumerating examples of the varied forms of illusions by which humans are entertained, intrigued and frightened. This talk is a particularily anecdotal way to approach the study of the imaginal, the illusive and anomalous. Terence McKenna, informs and delights his audiences through many media.
